The Observatory
A downloadable game
The game is space themed and makes use of this with the robot and futuristic aesthetics. The puzzles are lacklustre but I spent most of my time working on and learning how to model in blender but I think it was worth it as the aesthetics turned out quite nice and I learned a lot about blender. The scripts also took longer than expected and I encountered many bugs along the way that slowed progress but the scripts I made were modular and allowed me to extend dialogue and the story when I needed which was over the top for this game. For my next VR game I want to plan out and code the basics before I start on modelling or rigging anything as this took the most time and is what made me lose track of time and end up not finishing the puzzles I wanted to make.
Tools Used
Unity
Made in unity 2022.3.14f1 with the XR Interaction toolkit.
Aseprite
Used to make all the pixel artwork except for the painting which was AI-generated.
Blender
Used to make all the models in the level except for the hand models which came from a package.
Photoshop
Photoshop was used for basic texture editing and ideation.
Trello
Used for time management and planning.
Milanote
Used to create the mood board and plan some ideas.
